Wisdom of Assisi: A Month with St. Francis
Welcome to our October series on St. Francis of Assisi!
Each week, we explore fascinating facts and inspiring wisdom from his life to help us bring his spirit of peace, humility, and joy into our everyday faith.
Week 2: Radical Poverty & Creation
Did You Know?
- Renouncing his inheritance, Francis stripped off his fine clothes before the Bishop, declaring God alone his Father.
- He saw creation as a reflection of God, famously preaching to flocks of birds and calling the sun, moon, and wind "Brother" and "Sister."
- He embraced total simplicity, calling absolute poverty the path to heavenly richness.
Quote of the Week
"Sanctify yourself and you will sanctify society."
